Our Leadership Team

The vision and goals outlined above are understood to be the primary responsibility of parents who are ultimately accountable to God to commit to these goals. (Psalm 78:4-7, Deuteronomy 11:18-20)

Therefore, Fellowship Rouge Youth’s most important and frontline team consists of the parents. This is seen in the life of Timothy, and the sincere faith of his grandmother Lois, and mother Eunice. (2 Timothy 1:5, 2 Timothy 3:15)

With that in mind, Fellowship Rouge Youth is a tool to assist parents in this weighty task before God. We aim to encourage and equip parents as they disciple their children in the ways of the Lord, to maturity as adults. Our vision for youth work is to foster a support structure and transitional pipeline for youth that requires parental involvement and active participation.

To facilitate this admittedly sizable task, an organized leadership team consisting of four layers will be assembled. 2 Timothy 1:6 reminds those in leadership to “fan into flame the gift of God” and to that end, we seek to develop and mature the leadership team, knowing that as the leadership goes, there goes the youth, for good or for bad.

The following leadership structure and accountability hierarchy seeks to replicate the relationship between Paul and Timothy, with the faithfulness of Lois and Eunice in their parental responsibilities recognized as an essential component to God’s work :

  1. FCRP Elders - Provide prayer, guidance, wisdom, correction, and feedback on all personnel, plans and reports provided by Team Paul.
  2. Team Paul  (Mark & Lucy) - Coordination, team building, parental engagement (encouragement and equipping), Team Timothy mentorship and discipleship, Bible study and lesson planning (scheduling, training, delegation and/or teaching), reporting to FCRP family (newsletter, annual meeting updates), direct reporting and accountability to FCRP elders
  3. Team Eunice - Consisting of committed parents of youth, on a trajectory towards event and activity planning, execution, and supervision, with direct reporting and accountability to Team Paul.
  4. Team Timothy - Consisting of youth leaders on a trajectory towards mentorship development, leading Bible studies, devotionals, lesson planning, teaching, and small group leadership, tasked with assisting event and activity planning and execution alongside Team Eunice, with direct accountability to Team Paul.

Team Timothy would be chosen by and held accountable to a standard of character outlined in God’s Word, and summarized in a written expectations and guidelines document set out by Team Paul and approved by FCRP elders. The recognition is that Team Timothy must uphold a life of holiness and integrity, both in example to the youth (1 Timothy 4:12 - Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.), and within the boundaries for a life that provides no opportunity for sin, or even accusations of misconduct. (1 Thessalonians 5:22 - Abstain from all appearance of evil.)

Team development will occur in the months leading up to the launch. This team development (training and preparation) will include an initial vision share and prayer meeting for those selected to be part of the team, with multiple subsequent training and planning meetings in the subsequent months. These meetings will serve to commit this work to the Lord in prayer, to establish expectations and guidelines, for brainstorming and planning, and to kickstart essential training and mentoring routines.
